2. Preparing Images Before the Upload

Before uploading car part images, it is crucial to organize them. In this guide, we will show you the whole process.

If you prefer, you can watch this video guide on YouTube instead.

Asset ID

First, you require to use the asset IDs of your already existing car parts inventory. Once you have chosen which car parts you want to upload to Circularparts.com, please sort out those to who you will add the images. You will need the list of your asset IDs for naming the image folders.

Note!

Asset IDs are taken from your already existing car parts inventory outside Circularparts.com.

What is an asset ID?

Asset ID is a unique label used to identify and track your car parts. You probably already have asset IDs to identify your inventory.

Image Folders

Our system is built in a way that requires your car parts images to be sorted within image folders. A few rules apply here:
  1. Each image folder is named after one asset ID.
  2. Each folder may have multiple images (limited depending on your subscription type, read more here)

One folder can be assigned to multiple alternative part numbers. Therefore, you need to divide your images into folders and name the folders after the asset IDs you have decided to upload to our platform with the images. Once images are uploaded to the FTP server, followed by the inventory file, the system will try matching image folder names with the asset IDs in your inventory file.
Once sorted out your image folders might look like this:

Alternative Part Numbers

Car parts can have more than one part number. To increase the searchability of your listings, we have made it possible for you to upload alternative part numbers through the inventory file upload (please read  Inventory File Requirements  for more details ).
One asset ID can therefore have multiple alternative part numbers. That also means that all of these alternative part numbers can be assigned to one image folder (since the image folder is named after the same asset ID that all of these alternative part numbers have in common):
